Where am I working now?

In an adult toy store. My company is quite well known in the Lower Mainland, and I have the graveyard shift at the Whalley store, three nights a week. These are 12 hour shifts, ( by the way. )

Applied for EI today. I have no idea if they'll agree to give me money, but I sure hope so. And I'm applying for jobs online every day, usually about 15 of them. Signed up for a bunch of email alerts from the job bank sites, and there's Craigslist, and Alli's keeping her eyes open for me too.

So I got fired today.

I had a trainee tonight, which I hate.  Not that she was in any way objectionable, in fact she's a lovely girl who's asking good questions and is likely to be a fine operator once she's got the details down. I just despise training, and I always have.

Today was the 21st birthday of one of Jay's gaming friends, so she and her boyfriend came over and I pretended to know what I was doing in the kitchen, with really quite positive results!

Tiring day. Argumentative callers. Angry callers.

Of the two, I prefer the angry ones. They don't generally want to wear you down and make you agree with their pedantry. They can even sometimes be hung up on because they don't control their language, and I can be done with them.

I'm in a surprisingly good mood, considering I'm at work and have packed sinuses. Although the random bottles of aspirin around this office are definitely part of the cheer. My headache is greatly reduced. YAY ( Read more... )

Just did the online assessment portion of applying for a new job. It would mean commuting to Burnaby, but that's NOTHING compared to Langley, plus their call centre is only open until 8pm, and it would mean making $18.xx/hour, starting wage ( Read more... )
